The Waynesboro Police Department strives to make Waynesboro a safe place to live and work. Police Chief Augustus Palmer heads the department with over 27 years of experience in law enforcement.

The primary mission of the Waynesboro Police Department is to create and maintain a partnership with our employees, citizens, business and community leaders and others, who choose to live, work, visit, and learn in our community and to protect life and property, solve societal problems, and enhance social, environmental, economic, and educational opportunities for all.
