Community swimming areas and pools can be fun for the whole family over the summer months. They can also be a place where kids develop self-confidence, lifelong skills and healthy habits. Safety is critical to keep pool time safe and fun.
-Swim in designated areas supervised by lifeguards.
-Always swim with a buddy.
-Install and use barriers around your home pool or hot tub.
-Actively supervise children whenever around the water.
-Always stay within arm's reach of young children and avoid distractions.
-Keep toys not in use away from the pool and out of sight.
-Reach or throw aid to distressed swimmers. Don't go!
