I know there have been several committees over the years, to develop a "Battered Women/Children Shelter", to date as far as I know nothing has been done. We are in DIRE need of this facility. EVERYDAY in our town a woman is being beaten or emotional abused. If nothing has been done, I'm checking with the Mayor today ( will update this) it is time the Citizens of our beautiful town make something happen. There is NO assistance in Waynesboro for a Woman in that situation, no help to get out. Women of Waynesboro we need do make something happen. If you think so also call: 706-400-6031 Toni

Since January 2015 the residents on Blakeney street have asked the city to consider placing a fence (like that of Magnolia Acres apt.) that would isolate Blakeney street and Magnolia
cemetery. Nearly each household (or property) on the south end of Blakeney street have been victims of crime. The residents of Blakeney street are seriously tired of the disrespectful youth that continue to use their yards as short cuts or as trash dumps. Their are federal funds available for the elderly. Please W’boro, before another serious crime occurres, do something to help protect these law abiding citizens from the very destructive youths.
