Helena Chemical Company was the winner of the first annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Festival held at the Waynesboro Ice Plant. Fourteen trees were placed by organizations and businesses from around town. Each tree featured decorations unique to the group who placed it. The Ice Plant was a destination during the recent Tour Of Homes and the trees lent a very festive air to the event. All ornaments on the Helena tree incorporated products grown in Burke County including cotton bolls, peanuts and corn. Pictured with Mayor Pauline Jenkins are two of the ladies who designed and decorated the tree, Kathy Bowles and Paige Scott. Also pictured are Trinetta Skinner and Don Lively.
