1. What are inside-out grants and how can I apply for one?

The intent of the inside-out grant program is to encourage private investment in appropriate improvements in downtown commercial structures. Applications for the grants can be obtained through the Downtown Development Authority at which time applicants will be advised on the application procedure. 2. I own a historic property in Waynesboro and I want to make improvements. What do I need to do?

If your property is within the designated Historic District, there are rules and guidelines that are required in some situations before improvements can be done. Your work might require an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness. You should contact Downtown Development Director of the Historic Preservation Commission Don Lively at (706) 554-8018 before you begin work.
