Our Mission
The mission of the Downtown Development Department is to assist in the revitalization and development of the downtown area of Waynesboro.
Responsibilities
The department works with downtown businesses to undertake joint activities such as promotional events, advertising and streetscape. The director of Downtown Development also serves as staff and liaison between the city and the Historic Preservation Commission which oversees all areas of development within the designated historic district. In addition, the director manages the Main Street Program for the city.
