The City of Waynesboro Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and City Council. Each Member serves a three-year term and may not hold any other elected or appointed public office except that they may also be a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. If an application is received the Planning Commission will schedule a meeting. Scheduled meetings are normally held at City Hall on the third Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm.
Major responsibilities of the Planning Commission include:
Review and approval of residential, commercial and industrial group developments
Recommend to the City Council approval or disapproval of all amendments to the Land Use Plan
Recommend to the Zoning Board of Appeals / Adjustments, approval or disapproval on all variances and conditional use permit applications
Recommend to the City Council approval or disapproval of all requests for zoning changes
